The CPD process applied at DIESELWEST is a process for liquefying high-molecular substances of an organic origin. It is a single-stage process (direct liquefication) that differs from other processes in that the liquid energy carriers are derived not as distillate but by means of Fischer-Tropsch synthesis subsequent to gasification/carbonization. Unlike other methods of direct liquefaction, CPD also does not require high pressure, high temperature or the addition of hydrogen.

Inspired by nature
The natural creation of oil in the earth's evolution, in which mineral catalysts convert dead organic matter, provides the basic model for the CPD process. The extraction of oxygen causes the oxygen to be added to the atmosphere and the material that cannot be decomposed to form energy reservoirs (as oil).
